We are experiencing an unprecedented hiring demand for Advanced Practice Providers. Throughout American history there has always been a primary care provider shortage, however in recent history this shortage has escalated into a health care crisis. The chart below outlines the hiring demand for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners over a 4 year time frame. As you can see, the increased hiring demand is an astounding 546%. Even more impressive, despite the recession, there has been 198% increase in hiring demand of these practitioners in 2009. With the passing of Health Care Reform in March 2010 it is frightening to think what will happen once an additional 40+ million newly insured patients start looking for care.
June 2006 – June 2010 Hiring Demand for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners:
The publicity of Medically Underserved Areas (MUAs) such as rural communities and inner-city practices have caused most Americans to believe that the delivery of health care is only an isolated problem, yet when considering the ratio of available practice opportunities compared to available practitioner applicants one can see from the following map that some of the most prosperous metropolitan areas are the locations with the great difference in supply and demand for advanced practitioners. This map is a visual representation of the areas with the greatest demand yet the least supply. For a geographic area to be represented on this map there must be at least 10 job openings available and a supply/demand ratio grater than100%. The larger the circles the greater the supply/demand ratio.
Are YOU prepared for the demand?

As a Recruiter it is nice to receive praise for a job well-done, yet unsolicited recommendations are rare and greatly appreciated. Congratulations to Thomas Mitchell! Can you recommend you recruiter like this?
Dr. C., unfortunately, at this time we foresee no upcoming needs in your specialty.
However, in physician recruitment we use a number of agencies to search for physicians in various specialties in our office. I would like to refer you to one gentlemen with whom I greatly enjoy working. He may be able to assist you in finding a most wonderful position in just the right place, if you would like to work with him.
His name is Tommy Mitchell and he is with APRX, Advanced Practice Recruiters. Besides his warm personality, Tommy will listen to your needs and is not the least bit overbearing or pushy (as some in the business can be), so he won't be calling you needlessly or bothering you. He's been recruiting for several years - long enough to know exactly what he's doing.
He is in a network of about 200 independent recruiters who confidentially share information, so he has many contacts. If I were forced to choose one recruiter outside our hospital with whom to work, he would be my choice. I wouldn't refer you to anyone without total trust, so if you would like to contact him:

If I can be of further assistance to you, Dr. C., please let me know.
I wish you success and many years of happy practice.
Sincerely,
Susan
As our nation’s physician shortage increases in breadth, depth, and severity, a certain type of practitioner is bridging the gap between patient and provider. That provider is the Advanced Practitioner: Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, CRNAs, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nursing Managers and Directors.
According to the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) the demand for physicians will exceed the supply until at least 2025. Some expert estimate that there will be a 150,000 physician shortage by 2015.
Shortages are due to an aging and growing patient population, an aging physician workforce, younger physicians working less hours and other influences. Additionally, the US Census Bureau projects, between 2006 and 2025, that the population will grow to 350 million (an increase of more than 50 million).
Growing in capacity since the mid 1960s, with the advent of Medicaid and the realization of the impending physician shortage, the Advanced Practitioner's influence is expanding. Here at Advanced Practice Recruiters, we appreciate everything they do for their patients, physicians, and communities. It is our commitment to serve Advanced Practice Providers unlike any other recruiting firm. Whether it is finding the right job, connecting with other providers, or providing career advice we are here to help. If you’re reading this, then you are either a JOB SEEKER looking for a practice opportunity, or you are an EMPLOYER looking for a Midlevel Provider. In either case, you’ve come to the right place.
